2010 AKTA National Conference Recap

The American Kinesiotherapy Association is very excited to report another successful co-location with the Medical Fitness Association (MFA). The 2010 AKTA National Conference was held at San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, CA; December 1 - 4, 2010. The AKTA was grateful for the opportunity to network with the many health and fitness professionals who actively support the MFA. Many thanks to all of the AKTA sponsored speakers and volunteers.

Conference Testimonials:
“I thought the conference was outstanding! Not only were there so many options to attend in multiple areas, the speakers and attendees were very knowledgeable and able to give us user ready information.”

“I had a very good time at the conference. I usually shy away from attending the conference because of the limited amount of topics. This year, the fact that we had ample options of lectures that best suited my needs was great. I especially enjoyed the marketing lecture by Terri Langhans, 12 Myths of exercise and the round peg square hole topic. I loved the location of the conference and how it was easily accessible via trolley/bus. I hope that in the future, you continue to piggy back the AKTA conference with the MFA so as to continue to offer a vast array of topics. Can't wait till next year.”

My motivation and excitement for my job has reached an unprecedented level since attending this conference. I had a wonderful experience (this being my first conference) and I have been encouraging all of my fellow staff members who were unable to attend this year to make plans to attend next year. I returned home with loads of ideas as to how we can keep our patients excited for therapy, reduce no-shows and cancellations and achieve better results. I would like to keep this flame of inspiration burning though the Greater Los Angeles VA- KT Department.
